Rest your soul and body among the green Koroška forests. And let their rare resident – the wild rooster – reward you with its singing.
In the Koroška region, green forests welcome you everywhere you look – as far as the eye can see. They cover almost three quarters of the region’s surface. The vast forest proportions of the western Pohorje invite you to enjoy their shadow during the summer or create a magical fairy-tale in the winter. The Ribniško Pohorje area is home to the tallest tree in Slovenia as well as in Central Europe – the Sgermova Smreka Spruce. Lime trees – the symbol of Slovenia – decorate many homesteads in the Koroška region. The mother of all lime trees is the Najevska Lipa lime tree, the thickest tree in Slovenia, which is located by the Najevnik homestead, at Ludranski Vrh south above the Črna na Koroškem settlement.
