About Prevalje

The history of Prevalje is intertwined with ironworking, as its ironworks remained the most powerful in this part of Europe until its closure. The municipality boasts a rich cultural heritage, including Roman stones discovered in Zagrad, two beautiful Gothic churches above Leše, and Štoparjev Bridge, an exceptional technical monument. A visit to the village of Šentanel will enchant you, as it picturesquely stretches across the hills of Strojna with scattered farms, most of which welcome guests seeking authentic local food and drink. Below the settlement, you will also find Polhov Mill, which is over 150 years old. In Jamnica, agricultural tourism still thrives, but due to its natural characteristics, it is also gaining a sporting reputation. Here you will find a trail park that attracts mountain bikers from all over the world. Jamnica has also hosted the Enduro World Championship twice. In the very center of the town is the Prevalje Climbing Center – the most modern climbing facility of its kind in Slovenia. It offers over 200 different routes, more than 1800 m² of climbing surfaces, and walls up to 18 meters high. With the help of guides, everyone can experience the beauty of climbing.
