Beneath the mighty peaks of Peca and Uršlja Gora lies a world already explored by the Romans. Today, more than a thousand kilometres of tunnels tell the stories of miners and reveal a remarkable underground heritage. The Peca Underground—tourist mine and museum—is one of the key attractions of the cross-border UNESCO Karavanke Geopark. You ride a train into the heart of the mountain and then explore it on foot, by bike, or even by kayak through flooded tunnels—an experience you will not forget. Huda Luknja has an even longer tradition of tourist exploration of Koroška’s underground and is a true subterranean gem of the isolated Karst. Here, accompanied by guides, you will experience a true adrenaline trekking adventure.
