Mountaineering and Climbing
Koroška offers excellent opportunities for mountaineering and climbing, from natural climbing crags and via ferratas to more demanding mountain adventures amid rugged terrain.
Mountaineering
Mountain and climbing enthusiasts will find excellent sport-climbing and mountaineering routes on Raduha and the neighbouring Peca. The south face of Peca allows climbing as early as spring and as late as autumn. More seasoned climbers will also find plenty to enjoy here, as many routes invite a more demanding dance on the vertical. Many successful Slovenian alpinists have trained—and continue to train—in the north faces of nearby Raduha. Beneath its mighty wall, several enticing rock monoliths rise up, convincing even many boulderers to head into the mountains.
Prevalje Climbing Centre
Prevalje Climbing Centre is one of the most modern climbing centres in Slovenia. With climbing walls up to 18 metres high, extensive bouldering areas, specialised training systems, the Jungle children’s climbing hall, a rehabilitation wall and competition infrastructure, it offers top-class conditions for practice, recreation, training and competitions for all generations—from the youngest beginners to experienced and professional climbers.
