Hrabroslav Perger, a master from the PERGER 1757 family house, handcrafting traditional gingerbread products.

Tradition of crafting

Skills in woodworking, blacksmithing, and other domestic and artistic crafts have risen to a masterly level through the revival of tradition and ancestral heritage.

Skill, Tradition, Creativity

Under the skilled hands of the locals, products have been created that you won't find anywhere else. Woodworking, ironworking, and the use of other materials have led to the development of various handicraft and artistic trades. In numerous village smithies, tools were made and repaired to ease farm work. Today, this tradition is brought closer to you at Pri Kovaču in Podvelka. Simple painters and carvers decorated roadside chapels and lonely Koroška farms. A treasury of folk motifs can also be found on beehive panels that adorned every Koroška apiary. In Slovenj Gradec, you must not miss the Perger House, where since 1757, they have been crafting the finest honey and honeycomb products from carefully selected natural ingredients to brighten your home.

When Tradition Comes to Life

Koroška's handicraft heritage lives on in wood, iron, honey, and the skilled hands of the locals. From blacksmithing and carving to beehive panels and the famous Perger House – every product carries a story of tradition, knowledge, and creativity passed down from generation to generation.
