Kremžarjev vrh Hut

A pleasant stop for rest and refreshment on the hiking trail.

On the southwestern side of Kremžarjev vrh, at an altitude of 1,102 meters, stands the westernmost Pohorje mountain lodge, Kremžarjev vrh Hut.

The hut is a point on the Slovenian Mountain Trail, offering views of Uršlja gora. Even better views open up towards Košenjak from a larger grassy clearing near the hut. Visitors will undoubtedly be enchanted by the beautiful nature. Situated amidst forests and meadows, it is known as a pleasant excursion point for hikers, families, and cyclists.

The first hut was built by the Mislinja branch of the SPD in Slovenj Gradec, slightly higher than the current one on Kernikov vrh, and opened on December 8, 1934. On March 8, 1944, the hut was burned down by fighters of the Zidanšek Brigade to prevent its use by the German occupiers. After liberation, PD Slovenj Gradec built a new hut, which was opened on July 4, 1948. In 1981 and 1982, with the help of various organizations, the hut was thoroughly renovated and modernized, with electricity and water supply installed; the renovated hut was opened on November 28, 1982. In 1989, a telephone line was installed.
The hut is open from April 20 to October 15, except on Tuesdays; otherwise, it is open on Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays. The dining area has 40 seats and a bar; there are 18 beds in 5 rooms; a WC, a washroom with hot and cold water; central heating, running water, electricity, and a telephone.
