Life on the Farm

Klančnik Tourist Farm is located in Podklanec near Dravograd. They engage in livestock farming, pig farming, and farmed game breeding. They also process meat and dairy products. They have a real tourist train that takes you on a tour of the farmed game in an enclosed enclosure, where you can observe fallow deer and mouflons grazing. You can also view a diverse collection of taxidermied animals.  

A special experience of visiting Klančnik is also viewing the herd of fallow deer in the natural environment of the enclosure.
At the farm, visitors are also delighted by smaller, adorable piglets that enhance the tour of the animal world on the property.

Description

Before tasting excellent homemade cured meat and dairy products in a 150-year-old vaulted cellar, the hosts take you on their own tourist train to view the enclosure of fallow deer and mouflons, combined with a visit to the biological classroom, where you can discover a wonderful hunting collection of taxidermied animals. At the farm, you can purchase excellent cured meat and dairy products. During your visit to the farm, you will also learn many interesting facts about the processing of cured meat products on the farm, about life on the farm in the past and today. At the same time, they will ensure that you leave with a smile. 

Additional Information

In addition to the tour and tasting, the farm also offers excellent food. Their main specialty is game goulash with polenta enriched with homemade cracklings. They also prepare various spoon dishes and, upon request, lunch.  

In the hunting room, visitors discover a rich collection of trophies and taxidermied animals that showcase the diversity of the animal world. The image shows a taxidermied bison head.
